re: those who have let me know that their donations were rejected

57th streetSo, I have very good news, which is also bad. The good news is that we have raised almost $500 for Amanda. FIVE. HUNDRED. DOLLARS. I mean, I’m actually getting teary…

The bad news is that the Amazon Honor System that I am using to collect payments does not allow any more than $500 to amass in a 28-day period. YOU WERE TOO DAMNED GENEROUS! CUT IT OUT! Haha. As much as I didn’t realize this limit when I opened the account, I also never for a single moment imagined we’d raise this staggering amount. So, despite the fact that there are people out there interested in donating who have not had a chance to, the account is at this point is closed to new donations.

If I could wrap all the good karma floating around this site these days up in a package and send it to you with a glass of sweet red wine, I would. But since I can’t, consider your efforts inestimable and appreciated. And then some. Thank you.

Update: Still itching to give? A new donation box has been set up. Use this link to donate, henceforth.

Ok, here's a suggestion (because I procrastinated and didn't get my donation to you in time): Paypal. I don't think there's a limit and you and Pixxiestails could each have it on your sites. Otherwise, I hope you open it back up again after 28 days. I know other people who would like to help. :)

Yep. Sunshine beat me to it. Try Paypal. If I looked that good in a bikini, I sure would.

I used PayPal for supportive donations on my Typepad site, and was not happy with the fact that there was no way to not show my full name. Plus, their fees seemed higher.

I've updated this web address to reflect the new web site. going to "http://conscie.ntio.us" (Conscientious) will redirect people to the new Amazon Honor System.

i was sceptical that anyone would donate but donated myself - am very pleased to see others have come through!

its brilliant that just at a time when i was begining to think that most people are only interested in themselves, i see something great like this happening..
