miscellany of the utmost miscellaneous variety
- Many of you have asked how Amanda is doing, something I have been far too absorbed with my own life to consider responding to. Heh. Amanda has recovered FANTASTICALLY. She’s done with physical therapy and working on building her muscle strength. She would take pictures of the scar for us, but there isn’t one. No. Scar. Apparently, shea butter did the trick. How cool does it feel to know that so many of you sent this girl your spare change to pay for her surgery? To this day, I am bowled over by your kindness, as is she.
- I’m quite late to this, but I received an email from a friend of Shari Kurzrok, a VP at Ogilvy PR who needs a live-saving liver transplant in the next few days, or it will be too late. More information here, call 877-223-3386 or send an email to liverforalife@yahoo.com if you think you can help. She is supposed to get married in October.
- A friend of a friend launched her daily log about tattoo culture yesterday, read about it here, see it here: Needled.com.
- Today, this here little site reaches its half-a-millionth SiteMeter tick, just shy of its second birthday. To sum it up in one bulging sentence: Dear Blog, thanks for the boyfriend/future husband, the new career, readers with more faith in my writing abilities than I have, the endless traffic from xxx blogs, and Google’s faith that I am the reigning expert on everything from fart jokes to cupcake wedding cakes; I couldn’t be more proud. Love and unending navel-gazing, Deb.
