En route to the Museum of the City of New York on Saturday, Alex brilliantly suggested we forego the cross-town bus to hoof it. Getting to be in Central Park at a time of year when we never see such expanses more than made up for the frigid 32-degree sun. On the way back, we caught the sunset from the reservoir, cementing my theory that the inner skyline is the best one to watch.

do you use a digital? If so, how many megapixels if I may be so bold?

Canon EOS Digital Rebel. The older one. Very, very spoiling. When I took out my old Elph, I got stuck with pictures like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/smitten/82574360/.

Your pictures, as always, are great. They have a wonderful way of capturing both the small-town and big-city qualities of New York.

Sheesh...New York is beautiful. Ya'll have nothing like Rocky Mountains in the city, but it sure is beautiful in it's own way... One day I'll have to visit and stay a while...

the one entitled "my house" is my former place of work. trust me, you don't want to spend too much time there!

What a great mix of nature and man-made beauty. I love winter sunsets, the colours are always so rich. I feel so relaxed having seen those pics.

I like your future house. :)
I play that game too - marking certain buildings as my future home - it is fun.

Great set of pictures. Really captures the cool glory of NY in winter time.
